Volunteer the Night Away at the Red & Black Ball!

CVN volunteers at the Halloween dance

It's no secret that one of my favorite groups to volunteer with is Arlington County's Department of Therapeutic Recreation. They provide opportunities where people of all levels of ability can interact together in a recreational -- and fun -- setting. I've helped with everything from dances to family ice skating events to open-gym time and it's always active, engaging, and rewarding.

Coming up in February, CVNers can join in the fun at their Red & Black Ball, a Valentine's theme dance for adults. Dance skills are not required, but you'll probably see everyone else having such a good time on the dance floor that you'll want to join in regardless of your skill! Throughout the evening, they also need help with decorating, setting up, serving food, greeting and interacting with participants, leading arts and crafts, cleaning up, and more. There are still a bunch of open slots and they are counting on CVN's friendly and outgoing volunteers to make this event a success.

The ball takes place on Saturday, February 9th, from 6pm - 11pm. To find out more and sign up, click here

If there's a group you love to help, post a comment below and let us know about it. Maybe we'll be volunteering with them soon!

Hope to see you at the ball!
