Kiwanis 39th Annual Oyster and Barbeque Feast

The Kiwanis Club of Arlington is hosting its 39th Annual Oyster Feast-Pig Roast on Saturday, October 30, 2010. At the event, fresh oysters are shucked on the spot and served on the half-shell. The feast also includes fried oysters and clams, barbeque, hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, soft drinks, coffee, and beer from Rock Bottom Brewery.

The Feast is a great fundraiser for Kiwanis and volunteers are needed to help make it a success. All proceeds from the event benefit youth leadership programs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Arlington and help to fund community youth projects and grants from other educational and non-profit organizations focusing on children in Arlington.

Volunteer shifts are available from:

4-6 p.m.
6-9 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following items:
  • Greeting and tickets
  • Serving lines
  • Beverages
  • Table maintenance
  • Parking
All volunteers are welcome to eat for free after their shift! If you're interested in helping out, please email gjcdo@yahoo.com.

The Oyster Feast will be held at the American Service Center, 601 N. Randolph St. (nearest metro is Ballston). If you're interested in attending the event, you can purchase tickets for $35 in advance at http://39thoysterandbarbequefeast.eventbrite.com/.
