Volunteers for Gang Task Force Soccer Tournament

Are you an adult who is positive and patient, who knows soccer, and who is willing to spend an afternoon with a group of at-risk teens? If so, we're looking for you!

The Arlington Gang Task Force is once again holding their annual soccer tournament as a way to engage youth in a positive recreational activity. They are seeking adults to serve as team mentor/coaches (soccer experience not required, but it is a plus) for the tournament.

It will be held on Saturday, June 16 from noon - 6 p.m. at the Gunston Community Center synthetic field.

Adult mentors will be assigned to a team of 8-10 teens and will remain with them throughout the day, providing guidance on and off the field during the tournament, make sure they get to their playing field on time, are respectful of team mates and other teams, and the grounds.

Volunteers will receive lunch!

This is a wonderful opportunity for a caring adult to connect with young people who are badly in need of positive role models.

If anyone is interested and would like more information, please contact Michael Swisher at mswish@arlingtonva.us or (703) 228-4738.
