CVN Monthly Update - September

CVN Chair's Report

Recently, we've seen a lot of new faces at our meet-ups and at volunteer events.  It's always fun to welcome people to the group and very encouraging when they choose to stay involved.  However, coming to the first event can be a little nerve-wracking whether you are alone or with a friend.  To those of you reading our emails, but a little nervous to show up, I encourage you to just do it!  Our meet-ups are very low key, everyone is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and you already have a few things in common with everyone there -- you live in or near Arlington, you're around the same age, and you're interested in volunteering.

Whether you're a regular volunteer or looking to get a better sense of CVN before you jump in, I encourage you to read our blog, The CVN Forum, and leave comments.  By doing so, you'll hear from other volunteers, learn about local non-profits and events, and develop a connection to the greater volunteering community.  If you're interested in sharing your experience, we'd love to hear from you!  Please send us an email at cvn.bloggers@gmail.com to add your voice to the conversation.

I hope to see everyone at next week's meet-up or at an event soon!
