Message From the ChairThis year for Halloween, CVN is partnering with Parks and Rec for a family Halloween event this Saturday. The Halloween events are usually some of the best events we help out with, so I hope some of you can come out for it.
Our biggest event of the year is almost here! Our Community Residences clean-up day is a fun outdoor event. If you are new to CVN, this is a great event to start with and you can meet a lot of CVN's past and current leaders. We will be going to the beer garden afterward for a social event.
If you're looking to get more involved, develop your leadership skills, and give back to the community, I encourage you to consider serving on our leadership team or one of our committees. Upcoming CVN Events
- Family Fun Halloween Event - Saturday, October 27th, 12:45-4:00pm | CVN will be helping the Arlington Parks & Recreation Department with a special family Halloween event featuring games, moon bounce, costumes, and more! We'll be leading games for the kids. Costumes are not required, just a "spirit" of fun! Register here.
- Community Residences Clean-up - Saturday, November 3rd, 10:00am-2:00pm | Join us for CVN's biggest event of the year doing outdoor clean-up for Community Residences (CR). CR operates many homes in Northern Virginia for individuals with disabilities. Every year, dozens of CVN volunteers split up and go to several of the homes to rake leaves and perform other yard work. The event is a lot of fun and will be followed by a social meet-up at a local restaurant/bar. Register here.
- November Meet-up @ A-Town Bar and Grille (Ballston) – Tuesday, November 13th, 7:00-9:00pm | Join CVN at A-Town Bar to learn more about our upcoming events and meet fellow volunteers. Register here.
- Clothing Distribution with APAH - Saturday, November 10, 9:30am-2:00pm | Join the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) for new and gently used clothes distribution at their Buchanan Gardens property. Refreshments will be provided. Register here.
- Elementary Fall Family Campfire - Friday, November 16, 6:00-8:00pm | CVN will be serving apple cider and helping families prepare smores at the Parks & Recreation Fall Family Campfire. Come out on a brisk fall evening to have fun with local families! Register here.
