December Events & Meet-Up

Message From the Chair
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the Community Residences event last month.  It was our best event of the year and Community Residences was impressed with how quickly we finished raking the leaves!  Check out some great photos on our Flikr photostream.  CVN has had a great year and this month is our final push to reach the goal of 1,000 hours.

If you'd like to be more involved with CVN next year, please feel free to let us know of any ideas you have for events.  Also, if you'd like to improve your leadership skills, serving on the leadership team is a great way to accomplish that and to have fun while doing it!

  • December Meet-up @ LA Bar and Grill (South Arlington) – Tuesday, December 11th, 7:00-9:00pm | Join CVN at LA Bar and Grill to learn more about our upcoming events and meet fellow volunteers. Register here.
  • Project Christmas Angel with OAR - Thursday, December 13th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm | Project Christmas Angel, led by a local non-profit Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR), is an annual event that helps provide gifts for the children of incarcerated parents. At the wrapping party, we will hand-pick gifts based upon ideas from parents, wrap them, and prepare them to be delivered. There will also be refreshments and lots of holiday music! Register here.
