Last year CVN formally launched its Recurring Volunteering Committee. You might have noticed the Schoolyard Gardening Group at the Arlington Traditional School (ATS) and Food Bagging at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) showing up a lot on the calendar. We worked hard to grow these volunteer events. Our goal was to provide an expanded volunteering experience and to provide a chance to form deeper relationships with fellow volunteers and with the groups we volunteer for. These events were a great success and this year we are keeping the momentum rolling.
The ATS Garden Group has an information event for anyone hoping to learn more and get involved on Thursday, March 10th and the first gardening day is Sunday, March 13th.
The AFAC Food Bagging group has its second volunteer day of the year scheduled for Saturday, March 5th.
We hope to get a third recurring volunteer event group started this year. If you are interested in joining the Recurring Volunteering Committee to lead a recurring volunteer event or have any ideas for an event, please email cvn.r.volunteering@gmail.com.
